Best Root Canal Dentist In Westminster, CO
A root canal is a very common, non-surgical procedure. Root canal therapy is a common treatment for a decayed or infected tooth. If you have been experiencing extreme dental pain, a root canal might be the best treatment. Dr. Rojas and his staff are incredibly skilled and experienced in this treatment and are here to make sure that your experience stress free and affordable.
What is a root canal?
Dental pulp is the soft connective tissue within the tooth. Sometimes damage or injury to the tooth can cause infection or decay of the dental pulp located within the root canal. When this happens, sometimes a root canal procedure is used to preserve the original tooth. During a root canal, Dr. Rojas will clean out the infected area, seal the area, and restore the tooth using a crown or other type of restoration.
What To Expect During A Root Canal
Typically a root canal and tooth restoration can be done in a single office visit. During the procedure you will have a variety of sedation options to keep you comfortable during your visit. In addition, local anesthetic is applied to the area surrounding the tooth to ensure you feel nothing during the procedure. Once applied, we will thoroughly flush and clean out the root canal to remove all infection. Once the infection is removed, we fill and seal the root canal. In addition to the local anesthetic, nitrous oxide is available to those patients needing additional comfort. After the root canal is sealed, a crown will be used to further protect the area, and to restore the physical appearance of the tooth. We have the ability to do same-day crowns in our office using the latest technology, so you won’t have to wait weeks wearing a temporary crown.
